Johnelka Talks About Family (Part 2)
Johnelka lives in a house which was built for her family, it has 4 bedrooms and lots of space.
In this interview Johnelka talks about her grandparents on her mother's side of the family. They had 14 children together, the first was born when Johnelka's grandmother was 15 years old. She was a housewife and mother for her whole life and her husband was a "Jack-of-all-trades" meaning he worked in many different jobs throughout his career. Johnelka remembers going fishing with him on his boat when she was very young.
She talks about how close her family is. They have always had regular gatherings and still have barbeques and picnics together. These gatherings would usually be of around 75 people and last all day long.
Here are some questions to think about before you listen to the interview:
- What questions would you ask Johnelka if you had the chance?
- What did your grandparents do for a living?
- How many of your family members do you know?
- How many rooms does your house have?
- Do you think Johnelka will have as many children as her grandparents did?
